WooCommerce and WhatsApp Business integration

WooCommerce is the most widely used e-commerce plugin for WordPress and the usual choice for small and mid-sized Moroccan stores. The trtWhats plugin installs like any other WordPress plugin and forwards order events to the platform, which sends the matching WhatsApp messages to your customers.

Available from the starter plan

What syncs

  • A notification for every order status

New, processing, completed, cancelled or refunded: each WooCommerce status can trigger an approved WhatsApp template to the customer.

  • PDF invoice attached to the order

A PDF invoice is generated from the order data and sent with the confirmation. In Morocco, DGI-aligned e-invoicing is available from the Growth plan.

  • Abandoned cart recovery

When a shopper enters their phone number and then leaves checkout, a reminder goes out after the delay you set. This requires the Growth plan.

  • Customer sync

Every customer who creates an account or completes an order is added as a trtWhats contact, tagged 'WooCommerce'.

  • Cash-on-delivery confirmation

For stores that rely on cash on delivery, a message with confirm / cancel buttons helps cut down on fake orders before shipping.

Setup steps

  1. 1

Install the trtWhats plugin on WordPress

Download the plugin from your trtWhats dashboard, install it from the Plugins menu in WordPress, then activate it.

  2. 2

    Enter your connection key

Copy the API key from your trtWhats account settings and paste it into the plugin settings page. The connection is verified straight away.

  3. 3

    Choose which statuses trigger messages

For each WooCommerce status, decide whether it sends a message and pick the approved template to use.

  4. 4

Add the consent checkbox at checkout

The plugin adds an optional checkbox for the customer to accept WhatsApp updates, which Meta requires before any template is sent.

  5. 5

    Place a test order

Create an order with your own number and confirm that the notification and invoice arrive before enabling the integration on your live store.

Questions about this integration

Yes, as long as your site can make outbound HTTP requests and the WordPress task scheduler runs normally, which is the default with most hosting providers.
