Cookie Policy
Last updated 2026-09-09
Which cookies and trackers the trtWhats website uses, for what purposes, with what consent, and how to change your choices at any time.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Other techniques have similar effects: browser local storage, tracking pixels, session identifiers. In this policy "cookie" covers all such trackers. This policy applies to http://trtwhats.com, published by TRT Digital, and supplements our Privacy Policy, issued under Moroccan Law No. 09-08 and CNDP guidance.
2. How consent works on this site
On your first visit a banner lets you accept, decline or customise non-essential cookies. Until you make a choice, no non-essential cookie is set.
We implement Google's Consent Mode v2 with defaults set to "denied" (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization). Analytics and advertising tags only fire after you explicitly accept the relevant category; if you decline, they stay inactive and no personalised analytics or advertising data is transmitted.
Your choice is stored in a technical cookie for six (6) months. After that period, or if we materially change our trackers, the banner is shown again.
3. Cookie categories
Necessary cookies
Essential for the site to work: remembering your consent and language preferences, protecting forms against bots, load balancing, and the administration area session. They do not require consent and cannot be disabled from the banner. Lifetime: session to twelve (12) months.
Analytics cookies
They help us understand how the site is used (pages viewed, traffic sources, devices, conversions) so we can improve our content and journeys. Tool used: Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. IP addresses are truncated and reports are aggregated. Maximum lifetime: fourteen (14) months.
Advertising cookies
They measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and limit ad repetition, including on third-party sites. They may pass click identifiers (gclid, fbclid, ttclid) and conversion events to the relevant platforms. Tools that may be used, only when enabled in our configuration and after your consent: Google Ads, Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok Pixel. Maximum lifetime: thirteen (13) months.
Personalisation cookies
They allow content to be adapted to your market or previous interactions (for example the currency shown or the industry examples offered). Maximum lifetime: six (6) months.
4. List of tools
| Tool | Category | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Tag Manager | Necessary (tag manager) | Loads other tags according to your choices; sets no tracking cookie of its own | |
| Google Analytics 4 | Analytics | Traffic and conversion statistics | |
| Google Ads | Advertising | Conversion measurement and remarketing | |
| Meta Pixel | Advertising | Meta Platforms | Conversion measurement and Facebook/Instagram audiences |
| TikTok Pixel | Advertising | TikTok | Conversion measurement and TikTok audiences |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Necessary | Cloudflare | Protects forms against bots |
An advertising tool is only present on the site if its identifier is configured; the table above describes the maximum scope. The providers of these tools may process data on servers located outside Morocco, notably in the European Union and the United States, under their own privacy policies.
5. Changing your choices
You can revisit your decision at any time, category by category, by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately for new cookies; cookies already set expire at the end of their lifetime or can be deleted from your browser settings.
You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Refusing necessary cookies may, however, affect how the site works.
6. Data transmitted and your rights
Data collected through analytics and advertising cookies is personal data within the meaning of Law 09-08. It is processed on the basis of your consent and kept for the periods stated above. You have the rights of access, rectification and objection described in our Privacy Policy, which you can exercise by writing to [to be completed].
If you are located in the European Union, the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive also apply; the same prior-consent and withdrawal mechanisms are available to you.
7. Updates
This policy may be amended to reflect tools being added or removed. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
