WhatsApp for your retail store
Shoppers ask on WhatsApp whether a product is in stock, if an order is ready for pickup, or for their invoice. trtWhats brings all of it into one system, sent from your store's business number.
What your customer receives
The automation flow for this sector
- 1
Order ready for pickup
Once the order is prepared in store, the customer gets a utility template with the reference number, hours and pickup point.
- 2
Back-in-stock alert
When a sold-out product returns, a marketing alert with opt-in to those who asked, with a link to buy or reserve.
- 3
Receipt and invoice
After purchase, a PDF invoice in the formats required by DGI in Morocco or ZATCA in Saudi Arabia.
- 4
Catalog sharing
The customer asks for a department's catalog; they get products and prices to browse inside WhatsApp.
- 5
After-sales follow-up
A short message about warranty, returns or an experience rating, per the store's policy.
What it fixes
'Is it in stock?' ties up the salesperson
Availability questions repeat all day. Back-in-stock alerts and the catalog on WhatsApp answer automatically and free the salesperson for the customer in store.
Sold out, customer lost
With no notification channel, the customer forgets the product they asked for. A back-in-stock alert to opted-in customers brings them back the moment it returns.
Paper receipts and invoices
trtWhats sends a PDF invoice in DGI- and ZATCA-required formats the moment of purchase, so there is no need to print or send it by hand.
Pickups waiting without confirmation
An 'order ready for pickup' utility notification reduces orders that sit in store because the customer never comes to collect them.
Retail runs on short, repeated questions: is the size in stock? when does this product come back? is my order ready to collect? where is my invoice? Those questions mostly arrive on WhatsApp, tie up the salesperson all day, and bury real requests among them. trtWhats turns them into an organised system, sent from your store's business number on Meta's official Cloud API: an order-ready-for-pickup notification, back-in-stock alerts, sharing a department's catalog inside the chat, and sending the receipt or electronic invoice the moment of purchase — all from a single shared inbox the team can see.
The 'order ready for pickup' notification and receipts are utility templates in Meta's system, because they inform about a transaction in progress; they cost less than marketing and stay free inside the open 24-hour window until 30 September 2026, then are billed at the market's utility rate from 1 October 2026. A back-in-stock alert, by contrast, is a marketing message, so Meta requires explicit prior opt-in naming your store and WhatsApp before it is sent. In practice the customer consents when they explicitly ask to 'notify me when it's available', and trtWhats keeps consent status per contact so the alert only ever reaches those who requested it. Marketing template wording is checked before submission to Meta to avoid rejection: a sample value per variable and no shortened URLs.
After purchase, trtWhats generates a PDF invoice in the formats required by Morocco's Direction Générale des Impôts electronic-invoicing regime (DGI e-facture) and by Saudi Arabia's ZATCA phase-2 integration, as XML/PDF-A3 with a QR code — we align with the formats each regime requires, without claiming official certification. You can also share a product catalog to browse inside WhatsApp, so the customer sees items and prices without leaving the conversation. Customer replies land in the shared inbox with tags, assignment and internal notes, and the AI chatbot answers availability, opening-hours and return questions from your knowledge base. The system connects to your store and point of sale via the REST API and webhooks; platform-side conversations are unlimited on every plan, and you pay Meta's per-message fee directly to Meta, with no markup from trtWhats.
Getting started is quick: once your documents are ready, the number is usually live in 24 to 72 hours, and Meta's business verification takes one to five working days. A single shop fits the Starter or Growth plan, while a retailer with several stores can run multiple numbers on Pro and above, each tied to its own point of sale. Sending limits per number step up as your quality rating stays healthy, from 250 unique users a day to 1K, 10K, 100K and beyond, which matters when back-in-stock alerts scale. Coexistence mode lets the counter keep the WhatsApp Business app on the same number, and a QR-linked number suits a sole trader not yet registered. The AI answers in Darija when shoppers write in Darija, and in Arabic, French or English by their language.
